Our Youths team have received the Cup draws for both the Limerick Desmond Youths Cup and the Youths Division Two League Cup.
Having won the Division League Two title in Carrig Celtic in February, we return to face the hoops in the semi-final of the divisional competition. The sides shared a 2-2 draw in the league in Clarina, while it took spot kicks to see Breska advance in the Desmond Cup, also in Clarina. This game was also 2-2, with a 4-1 scoreline on penalties. With just seven teams in the league, Breska received a bye, while Carrig received a walkover from Ferry Rangers to reach the last four.
The Desmond Youths Cup sees our side travel to Broadford United. Having defeated Carrig on penalties, Breska defeated Shannonside 4-0, away, to book a last four spot.
Broadford recently secured the Division One title, having beaten Ballingarry. Add to this their historic run to the semi-finals of the Munster Youths Cup and you clearly have a well-drilled side.
Their sole defeat in 2018/19 came away to Askeaton, in December, while they conceded just 5 goals in their five times on their way to securing their second youths title in as many seasons. They arrive in the last four without kicking a ball, a walkover in the quarter-final means, bizarrely that both our semi-final opponents are yet to play in the respective competition.
No date has been set for the ties, but please support the boys as they go in search of a place in a cup final (or two).
