Weekly Club notes 25th August
By Tom Clancy, Breska Rovers PRO

U10:
Our U10 boys were involved in the U10 Dual clash with Shountrade in Breska on Saturday. Well done to our boys, who performed well in a very sporting clash.

U12:
Our U12A side roared back into action with a short trip along the N69 to Askeaton. Breska came away with a deserved 3-1 victory, having played some cracking football. Gerry Moroney and Max White were on target, with Moroney adding two to his growing tally this season. Credit must also go to the hard working defence who survived an early spell of pressure from Askeaton.

The management selected Max White as their Player of the Match due to his tireless display and his involvement in plenty of great attacking play.

Squad: Alex Smith, Neal Buckley, Diarmuid Coughlan, Tom Shanahan, Gerry Moroney, Max White, Tiarnan Cosgrove, Dean O’Carroll, Josh Conway, Mark Sheehan.

The U12Bs returned to action with a friendly against Carew Park. Thanks to Carew for travelling to Clarina. An entertaining clash ended 2-2 with Timmy McCormack scoring from the penalty spot and grabbing his 2nd shortly after. The team return to competitive action next Saturday. Many thanks to referee Tom Fitzpatrick for taking the game.

U16:
Our U16s also returned to competitive action last Thursday, August 22nd. Rathkeale were the visitors to Clarina and came away with a 2-0 victory. However, this was a creditable display by our young side, with many of the players still eligible for U14 and U15.

Junior:
Our Junior A team had friendly victories away to both Askeaton, Division Two, and Ballingarry, Division One. Thanks to both sides for hosting the games in difficult weather conditions.

Askeaton 2-3 Breska Rovers (Kevin Foster (2), TJ O’Connor)
Ballingarry 2-4 Breska Rovers (Josh Fitzgerald, Ethan Keyes, David Lowe, Niall Quane)

Our Junior B team kick-started their season with a game away to Pallaskenry.

Pallaskenry 5-4 Breska Rovers B (Orin Garvey, Tommy Collery, Tom Clancy, Keith Punch)

In a game with 9 goals, we came out the wrong side with a 5-4 defeat. A number of players getting their first taste of junior football in superb conditions.

Both teams are back training this week.

Our Ladies team are flying through their pre-season under the guidance of new manager Gavin McKee.
