Ava Byrnes found the net three times, and her hat-trick was added to by Madison Stanners. It was an entertaining game for those in attendance, with both sides posing for a fantastic team photo after the game.

U12A:

Even though the away team had the majority of the play our lads held firm and only conceded with five minutes to go. Special mention to our goalkeeper Matt Shanhan kept us in the game for such a long period by making a string of superb saves to deny Shannonside any chance of making it an uneven game.

Team: Matt Shanahan, Scott Cleary, Diarmuid Coughlan, Neal Buckley,  Gerry Moroney, James Smith, Tiarnan Cosgrove, Josh Conway, Shane Byrne, Dean O Carroll, Alex Smith

U12B: The U12 B’s got back to winning ways in their first competitive game after the summer break, in lovely conditions at the Paddocks, Ballingarry.

Breska had the best of the attacks it in the first half with Max White hitting the crossbar with a long range effort. The first half ended 0-0 but Breska felt hard done by not to be in the lead. Ballingarry came out in the 2nd half and had chances to take the lead but Alex Smith in goals stood up an mad some fine saves.

White then had two chances to score with the Ballingarry keeper saving on both occasions. Breska took the lead with just nine minutes left, Max White running through the defence squaring the ball across the box for Mark Sheehan to tap home. Just two minutes later James Byrnes linked with Max and Mark Sheehan with captain on the day James Byrnes finishing cooly passed the keeper for a goal that his work rate deserved.

There was still time for Max to hit the crossbar once more with another long range effort, while Alex pulled off an acrobatic save in the last minute to preserve his clean sheet, game finished 0-2 and Breska come away with all three points.
