Our junior team exited the Desmond Cup at the second round at home to Askeaton. The visitors led 1-0 at the break and doubled their lead early in the second half, to leave Breska with a mountain to climb. Despite dominating proceedings it wasn’t until stoppage time that the net was finally hit by Tom Clancy, after a tidy lay-off by Sean Healy.
A disappointing day wasn’t helped by a number of absentees, through injuries, sickness and suspension, with Conor McCarthy, Nathan Sheehan, Mark Phayer and Ger Mullins all missing from the squad.
