At the meeting the committee acknowledged the efforts of the Junior, Ladies and Youths teams during a difficult but successful 2018/19 season.

LADIES TEAM:

Our Ladies finished fourth in the Limerick Desmond Ladies Premier Division and were defeated in a cup semi-final. We would like to thank Ian Gardiner and David Fitzgerald for their efforts and we wish them well going forward. The club are delighted to welcome Gavin McKee to the club as the new Ladies Manager and we hope our ladies side can continue to flourish this season.

We would also like to extend a belated congratulations to Kelly Griffin on winning the Desmond Ladies Premier Division Player of the Year after a fantastic season.

JUNIOR TEAM:

Our Junior team finished fourth in Division One of the Limerick Desmond League and won the Limerick Desmond League Division One Cup, in late June. We thank Adrian Costello for his hard work during the season as well as the entire squad for their efforts during the season, which lasted around 11 months. Congratulations to James Purcell who received the Man of the Match award in the Division One Cup final, following an impressive display in goals.

YOUTHS TEAM:

Our Youths team from last season won the Limerick Desmond League Youths Division Two league title, and finished runners-up in the Divisional Cup final. We thank management of Kevin Foster, Conor McCarthy and Tom Clancy for their efforts during the season. A particular thanks to the players who made this age-grade possible, after a long period without representation at U18 level.

RESERVE TEAM:

After careful consideration, between the management and committee, it was agreed that, due to numbers, it was in the best interest of the club to enter a second adult team, in place of an U18 team. This is a “Reserve” team, designed to aid the “A” team, and to give a platform to our younger players to enter adult football. This team will be managed by Kevin Conway and Tom Clancy, while Adrian Costello remains in charge of the “A” team for a fourth season.

JUNIOR TEAM TRAINING RETURNS WEDNESDAY 14th AUGUST, at 18.45, IN BRESKA.

SPONSORS:

We would like to thank all our sponsors last season at adult level: BHP Laboratories, O’Connor Web Design, Currans Ferrybridge, Nigel Reid Lawnmowers. We thank all of these business’ for their continued support, and we ask our members to support local business where possible.
